Our Story
Barker Piano Tuning was founded by Greg Barker in 1996 — the fulfillment of a calling he felt through prayer. He apprenticed under a fourteen-year veteran of the craft, then quietly built a business by serving friends, family, and church members. When the owner of Allegro Music Center in Casselberry began routing piano requests to him, Greg found himself working alongside band, choir, and orchestra directors across Central Florida — relationships that would span decades.
Greg passed on September 8, 2023, leaving behind a legacy measured not just in perfectly-tuned instruments, but in the students who heard their school piano sing for the first time, and the families who trusted him in their homes year after year.
His daughter Erin Copeland began apprenticing and tuning alongside Greg in 2017. She brings the same care, professionalism, and attentiveness that defined her father’s work — and the same faith-driven commitment to the craft he loved.
What We Do
We handle most piano repairs, from a simple tuning to a full interior cleaning or action regulation. For specific repairs, we’ll do a visual inspection and provide an estimate.

When a piano is significantly flat — often a half step or more — it must be brought up to tension before a standard tuning can hold. We raise first, then tune.

A thorough 9-step deep clean that restores the interior to like-new condition.

All keys must sit at the same height and drop the same distance for even touch. With age, felt bushings compress and tolerances drift. We restore them to factory specifications using paper shims, accurate to .001 of an inch.

Most manufacturers recommend regulation every 3–5 years. Seven adjustments per key — jack position, repetition lever, spring tension, blow distance, let-off, drop, and back check — bring the action back to its original responsiveness. After regulation, the difference in how the piano responds to your touch is immediately apparent.
